The coatings to be painted represent an economic alternative and above all very practical for quickly renovating its walls and ceilings. Thus, they replace the coatings and are much easier to install. They offer a wide range of choices in terms of materials as well as formats, but also textures and patterns.
The different coatings to paint
There are three main families of paper to paint: paper grain, traditional wallpaper and expanded vinyl (paper or non-woven). The grain, made from recycled paper is easy to paint. However, to guarantee a good performance you have to choose a paper of a certain weight, from 165g / m². The traditional wallpaper called simplex or duplex is a healthy and economical product that can also be covered with paint. Then, the foil to be painted "vinyl" (paper back or non-woven back) is composed of a thin layer of PVC, so waterproof is ideal for water features. In relief, it offers various effects to customize your walls: squares, stripes, flowers, imitations... There are also expanded vinyls specially designed to hide wall imperfections.
Materials, formats and patterns of coatings to paint
Depending on their condition, not all walls can be covered by any coating to be painted. Thus for the new plaster, we prefer the non-woven reinforcement veil "support new" Fibrex, or the veil of standard glass reinforcement or pre-painted "Planit". For cracked walls, non-woven fiberglass is used, with a smooth appearance. In the case of new ceilings or walls, the non-woven 100% non-woven support is suitable and for a smooth surface ready to be painted, a standard or pre-painted glass reinforcement veil.
For "problem" ceilings or damp rooms, "lanivit" type canvases or glass veils are preferably used. In addition, at the level of the reasons, the choice is of the most varied: stitches, plaster, trowel or of various geometrical shapes, and even bubbles or bricks.
Coatings to paint practical side
If it is relatively accessible, the installation of a coating to paint, whatever its quality, still requires some preparation. Thus, it is imperative to remove the fasteners in place, to scrape the chipped or no longer adhering parts and if necessary, to seal the filler, holes, cracks and any cracks. It is also recommended to wash the old paints and to sand the lacquered or varnished finishes. Then, for the installation, the glass cloths and the nonwovens are fixed by simply gluing the walls. The work is fast and the cuts are done in advance, directly on the wall. The grain is as for him like wallpaper, by sticking of the wrongs on the back. The work is longer and requires cutting the strips in advance. Be careful to choose a glue suitable for your coating. Finally, for painting, prepainted coatings only require a single layer of acrylic paint, unlike others that require a second coat.
If the coatings to be painted are easy to install, it seems important to emphasize that they are not always easy to remove.
