This product belongs to a new range of colored aqueous decorative coatings tinted in the mass (Magic'Déco Toupret). Their simplicity of use makes it possible to create subtle wall decorations once reserved for professional painters. The version shown here is available in six pastel colors.
Coat in one or two passes
A 2 mm thick layer is sufficient to prime a flat or low-relief surface and achieve the final effect. If the wall is very irregular, a second layer is required 24 hours apart to make up for unevenness.
In both cases, the application is made directly, provided that the walls are healthy (free of moisture trace) and cohesive (non-friable).
A small preparation is however necessary to promote the adhesion of the coating:
- dusting, leaching of painted walls and drying.
- on soft or powdery substrates, apply a hardener (Oxi, Julien, Toupret...).
Mixing the plaster
Before starting the work, the adjacent surfaces should be well protected with a wide masking adhesive and the floor with a tarpaulin. It is essential to thoroughly homogenize the coating before spreading it.
The operation will be facilitated and optimized by the use of a mechanical means (propeller mixer or drill with a mixer).
In order to avoid splashing, the machine must be set to slow speed and firmly hold the mixing time, ie less than one minute.
Application of decorative plaster
Optional, the tool kit (sold separately) includes 1 roll and 3 squeegees: notched blade (black plastic), smooth blade (purple plastic) and hard blade, narrower (white).
Take the dough by roll and spread it in a regular layer, slowly to avoid splashing.
Work in 1m zones2 approximately, leaving blank borders of 1 to 2 cm.
Spread the material immediately with the black squeegee by pressing lightly.
Do not hesitate to return to the area by crossing the passes and cover the blank strips.
Smooth the coating with the violet squeegee. Describe rounded gestures in all directions to avoid too much uniformity.
Repeat the process to cover the wall.
On wooden, metal or wallpaper-covered surfaces in good condition, it is recommended to apply universal printing, such as acrylic underlayment to all substrates "Covers and Adheres "de Tollens.
The consumption to be expected varies according to the state of the support. A bucket of 12 kg can cover 12 to 16 m² flat wall or low relief in one layer.
On uneven support or marked relief, provide a yield of 5 to 8 kg / m².
Realization of the final effect
After drying (12 to 24 h), apply a second coat, if necessary, with cross-pieces spaced about 20 cm apart, with the white squeegee, blade almost perpendicular to the wall.
Fill the voids by closing the blade angle until the layers overlap.
Wipe the blade often on the edge of the bucket and clean it with a damp sponge.
To obtain more nuanced patterns, tighten the coating as you go along the clean, dry squeegee held at an angle (approximately 20°), "stroking" the surface.
