Dark red wood with light reflections veil.
It is a hardwood and very hard. Azobé is a rot-resistant wood (which can not rot) so it is quite recommended for outdoor use.
Uses in the house:
Carpentry: stairs, floors. Framing.
It requires heavy duty saws to be cut like tungsten carbide blades or discs. We advise you to use electric saws rather than manual saws. It has a correct hold when fixed by screwing or gluing.
