Determine the size of the window
The size of your window should be chosen according to the area of the room to be illuminated.
If the piece measures from 2 to 3 m², opt for dimensions of 55x78 cm.
If the piece measures from 3 to 4 m², opt for dimensions of 55x93 cm.
If the piece measures from 4 to 6 m², choose dimensions of 78x98 cm.
If the piece measures from 6 to 7 m², opt for dimensions of 78x118 cm.
If the piece measures from 9 to 11 m², opt for dimensions of 114x118 cm.
If the piece measures more than 11m², choose dimensions of 134x98 cm.
Determine the type of opening
There are two types of openings, whose choice criteria are aesthetic and practical.
The rotational opening that rotates around a central axis is suitable for roofs of 20 to 90 degrees. Simple to handle, this type of opening can easily be motorized.
The projection aperture rotates around an upper axis. It is suitable for frames from 15 to 85 degrees. This type of opening offers a significant saving of space by allowing you to place furniture against the window without obstructing it. It can also be motorized.
Determine the type of glazing
For roof windows as elsewhere, in terms of glazing, innovations abound. The standard double glazing offers a reinforced thermal insulation quite sufficient. The glazing with adjustable ventilation system, which offers optimum insulation. The anti-UV glazing, which offers maximum protection. Many new products such as self-cleaning windows are added to the list.
