The horizontal and vertical chaining of a building makes it possible to stiffen the structure. Thus, the angles of the walls of facade are reinforced with reinforced concrete.
The realization of a reinforced concrete corner post is fast with a prefabricated and standardized formwork. But we can also go up row by row of blocks specifically designed for this purpose: the blocks posts, or block chaining.
It is then sufficient to integrate the type of suitable reinforcement in the vacuum reserved for this purpose and to pour concrete. The internal dimensions of this reservation vary according to the thickness of the block and also determine the diameter of the frames to be used.
Place a first corner block on a bed of mortar after locating the corner on the ground with cords.
Check and correct alignment and level as needed with a hammer and a spirit level.
Check the plumb with the help of the spirit level.
Correct the position with a few blows.
Place a bed of mortar on the ground perpendicular to the first block and install a standard breeze block.
Adjust the two blocks perfectly, then control the angle with a Mason square.
Garnish the joint between the two blocks.
Place a bed of mortar on the top of the blocks.
Place a second corner block in the opposite direction to make a staggered installation.
At the end of the installation, slip the reinforcement into the corner blocks and pour concrete to stiffen the assembly.
