This tutorial guides you step by step to successfully recycle a wooden pallet and parquet slats in a nice retro mirror.
Time: half a day
The step-by-step realization of the mirror in a wooden pallet
Cut the palette with the jigsaw to form a rectangle of 58 cm x 67 cm.
Assemble the parquet slats (or 2 planks of wood from the pallet) together with glue and place them horizontally above the rectangle.
On the reverse, nail pieces of perpendicular cleats to hold pallet and battens together securely.
Cut a piece of 5 cm x 67 cm into the molded rod and bevel at 45° on both ends.
To bevel, saw at an angle by drawing the diagonal with a square or using a hoof.
Glue this piece to the top of the trumeau, then nail with fine points to maintain the set.
In a remnant of boards, saw a heart, coat it with glue and place it 20 cm from the top.
Cut 2 pieces of wood to the desired shape that will serve as mini-shelves and nail them to 10 cm from the bottom of the trumeau.
Paint the set with a brush passed quickly. Let dry.
Glue the mirror in the center.
Cut the quarter-round chopsticks so that they frame the mirror, taking care to bevel the angles.
Paint them. Let dry.
Stick the chopsticks around the mirror and nail them with fine tips.
