Enjoy space in your attic with a Velux solar roller shutter.
Very easy to install from the inside of the attic, the Velux solar roller shutter works thanks to an electric motor powered by a battery located in the boot of the shutter. This battery is connected to a photovoltaic cell that captures solar energy and transforms it into electricity. Thus, the shutter works independently, regardless of brightness.
Identification of the roof window model
Locate the reference of your roof window which is on the field of the front of the opening: it will be used to choose the model of shutter adapted to your frame. Velux has indeed developed products that can be installed on all generations of windows. Kit includes trunk with built-in photovoltaic cell, rolled shutter apron, runners, slide brackets and low profile. Do not start to mount the shutter without programming it...
Programming with the shutter remote
Remove the cheek from the trunk to access the switch and initialize the shutter. Set the switch to "1" using the supplied star tip. Wait ten seconds. Press the "P" button until you hear three short, short sounds. You then have ten minutes to finish recording the shutter on the remote control.
The programming of the commands is carried out via the shutter remote control. Press the "reset" button on the underside of the case for one second, using a pointed object. Be careful not to activate the buttons on the remote before installing the shutter completely on the window.
Installing the shutter on the window
Open the roof window. Remove the screws from the bottom profiles of the sash and those of the high side profiles of the frame, the time to mount the roller shutter and fix the brackets of the side rails. Be careful to center the bottom profile of the shutter before screwing it.
Pre-drill holes 3 mm in diameter as indicated in the instructions. Then apply sealant and screw the side supports of the shutter.
With the original screws, screw the upper side profiles of the frame. Fit the roller shutter box into the side support housing. Make sure that the rubber flap is properly positioned above the window.
Adjust the roller shutter box so that it is positioned as close as possible to the cover elements, without touching them. Loosen the safety screws and carefully fit the side rails into the trunk, following the marks.
Screw the opening limiters. Release the shutter with the remote control. First press the "stop" button, then the "descent" button to start the first complete descent without interruption. The shutter is then ready for use.
