Once the starting row is dry (or wedged), the next row begins with a half-blade, or the fall of the previous row (if it measures more than 15 cm), so as to alternate the joints. The gluing is carried out with the advance: thus, the putty does not dry prematurely.
Join the blades
The blades must be perfectly joined. Tap with a mallet by inserting a drop of the blade so as not to damage the tongue. Immediately clean the glue burrs with the product suitable for the glue used (water for vinyl glue, acetone or vinegar for putties). After drying, it will be necessary to scrape them.
Snap the slats with a blade
Arriving against the opposite wall, it is no longer possible to insert a shim. The blade is then essential to fit the slats.
Be careful again not to damage the tongue.
Glue down baseboards
On a factory varnished floor, it remains to remove the holds and to hide the peripheral seal.
Glue the back of baseboards: make cords of fixing mastic (not too close to the edges).
If the floor is neither painted nor oiled in the factory, wait at least 24 hours for finishing. Apply the finishing product in the direction of the blades, in thin layers and well drawn to avoid creating extra thicknesses.
Between the floor and the plinth, insert pieces of cardboard to allow expansion.
Plinth the plinth (plant a few points without a head if necessary).
