In a room to be renovated (bathroom or kitchen), the water in PER feeds collectors (or nannies) which, in turn, distribute the water to the sanitary devices. This is called a hydro-wiring installation.

Equipped with an inlet and several outlets, the collectors make it possible to centralize the connections and the shut-off valves. Just install two to dispense hot and cold water.

From these collectors to sanitary fixtures, tubes run behind partitions, in building cavities or are embedded in the floor screed. Count the number of water points to feed and choose a collector that can accommodate at least one more. It will be used in case of transformation or renovation.

To distribute bathroom fixtures with a minimum of fittings, as part of a multi-ply tubing or PER plumbing renovation, the simplest is to install two manifolds (or nipples, see System D, n° 849): one for distributing hot water and another for cold water. Each, concealed ideally in a technical duct that must remain accessible, is equipped with an inlet and one to four outputs (always provide a collector with a further output if necessary). Manifolds equipped with valves make it possible to isolate each device, which is useful when it is necessary to repair or replace one.
