I would like to pour a water-repellent screed of 2 or 3 cm on tomettes. Is it possible or do I have to remove the tiles and make this screed on the sand?

It is always better to leave on a healthy base especially if the tiles were laid in the old fashioned bed of wet sand, covered with a mortar of lime. You will have to deposit them before pouring your screed. A simpler solution is offered to you if you do not wish to deposit this tiling: the creation of a dry screed directly on it (see our sheet CHAPE DRYER PLACOSOL on the site) which thanks to its system of waterproof sheets installed on pellets, isolate it from rising damp.
