In false attic, I already have stone wool on the floor between joists which is 27 years old. Can I project over the insulation (I do not know the name) or should I remove the old insulation and start from scratch.
I have often said on the air that, ideally, it is always better to remove the old insulation to start on a clean basis. However, if access to the attic is difficult, and if the rockwool appears in good condition, it is not a disaster to keep it in place and put a new layer of insulation.
