I have for 40 years a terrace of 70 m2 above the basement. It is covered with stone Solhofen. There is no leakage (tar seal) but the cement joints crack. We plan to redo everything. Which solution to choose? The contractor offers us a paving of waxed concrete possibly colored and decorated? What do you think about it and are there other solutions that you think would be better? Thank you in advance.

In the first place, we can consider keeping the stones (if they are in good condition), to use only all the joints
In a process of complete renewal, the choice of a decorative concrete is not necessarily ideal, particularly in terms of aesthetic aging, even more in very sunny areas. Natural stones are expensive but resist the passage of time. Reconstituted stones are more economical, but they clog up quickly and shades fade in the sun
