Eccentric sanders continue to evolve. After the recovery of the dust, here comes the time of the electronic control of the pressure.

Eccentric sander on test
The machine is rather bulky because the filter cartridge system with dust collector takes up space. Ergonomics is designed for a two-handed fit. The handle offers a comfortable grip, the trigger is effortless and the lock button falls to the thumb. For left-handed users, the button can be operated by pressing the base of the index finger. The palm of the other hand rests on the top of the body of the machine and does not prevent the control lights from being monitored.
The sanding plate (Ø 125 mm) is fixed by four screws. The classic Velcro disc attachment system also allows you to receive accessories such as the foam disc for polishing or the buffing disc.
The sanding dust collection tray forms a kind of sliding drawer that can be removed in the blink of an eye. There is just one button to unlock.
Upon ignition, the red warning light indicating a too high pressure is on, the time for the machine to take its rotation. Then, reading on the green LEDs makes it possible to measure the impact of the force exerted on the plateau.
The weight of the machine and a very light pressure are enough to ensure quality sanding. But when working low on the floor, the weight of the body tends to refer to the sander. This leads to overheating of the machine and rapid clogging of the abrasive. The reading of the control lights then makes it possible to see instantly if the pressure exerted on the machine is too strong.
The dust extraction system through the sanding tray recovers most of the particles. However, a slight fouling may form around the disc and around the grass catcher. It seems that the origin of this "leak" is at the inlet of the dust in the rigid tray. But it is only a few particles, which "dirty" the device without inconveniencing you. So you can sand without being surrounded by a cloud of dust.
When sanding metal, remove the tray securely. Indeed, a spark can very well be sucked up and projected into the tank already filled with sawdust. Elementary security.
- Good sanding performance when tested on various substrates. In use, the weight of the whole is not a handicap because the grip allows to work with precision and without effort.
- After several uses, you must separate the back of the tray (the red part) to access the two small cones that filter the rejected air. This is the only way to effectively unclog the coverslips from the filter papers.
An efficient machine that is in a good price range for a model equipped with a dust collector. Pressure control is an added advantage. The only small flaw comes from the design of the dust collection tank: it requires frequent maintenance.
Handling and pressure control lights
A good grip for both right-handed and left-handed. The pressure control lights provide permanent reading. Red indicates that you have to press harder.
Suction and recovery system
The suction and recovery system allows working without dust. Only complaint: a poor seal between the tank and the machine... hence the gradual fouling of the outside of the tank.
