Screwing is a type of fixation deemed to be inarchable and not extractable. It allows to securely assemble two or more metal parts. Depending on the nature of the metal, it will drill holes, tapping (make the screw) before installing the screw and tighten or the screw will be called self-drilling and it will be sufficient to screw it. Screw heads are different, straight or cruciform depending on the job. It is therefore necessary to have a double set of corresponding screwdrivers. Today we see many profiles of heads that require as many profiles of screwdriver tips.

1. Block the flat iron to be drilled between the jaws of a vise, after tracing the location of the hole to be practiced and giving it a needle punch. This preliminary operation prevents the drill from slipping during drilling and ensures greater precision at work. Attack the metal without forcing; Modulate the speed of the drill according to the diameter of the drill used (according to the instructions of the instructions for use of the machine). Lubricate the metal regularly.
2. Fit a cutter on the chuck of the drill. Lubricate (with tallow or oil) before working. The cutter prepares, at the top of the hole, the cone intended to receive the countersunk screw head.
3. The second flat iron has been drawn, drilled, pointed (as before), according to the marks and dimensions corresponding to the work done on the other iron to be assembled. Place it between the jaws of a vice to immobilize it. The formation of the thread is done using a tap adapted on a left-turn. To attack the metal, turn this tool from left to right, then in the opposite direction to clear the shavings thus formed. Always lubricate before working. Carefully dispose of metal chips as you go.
4. After cranking the first flat iron, place it on the second one, always immobilized by the vice, by superimposing the holes. Tighten the slotted screws with a round blade screwdriver.
5. Place the aluminum profile on the plate. Immobilize them together with clamps. Draw and point the location of the holes; tighten everything in a vise. Drill first at one end and then at the other. Use a drill with a diameter slightly smaller than the screw to be placed. Tighten the Phillips screws in the end holes. Remove the clamps and practice the intermediate holes.
6. The Phillips head screw is itself a screw thread during tightening.
