Should we provide acoustic insulation before laying tiling in the DRC in a new detached house? Can double sizing be done without having resonance problems?
Since the tiled room is on the ground floor, there is no particular interest in acoustic insulation. Double sizing should not cause any particular problem of resonance. The resonance phenomena in a walk-in room come more from the walls than from the floor and from the lack of furniture in the room. We also note that thick curtains significantly reduce resonance phenomena, constituting kinds of traps "to sound", whether they are drawn or not.
