The tiling of my terrace (100M²) which is fifteen years old is deteriorating, freezes and peels off because of water infiltration by the joints. A pro made me a quote to replace it completely and offers me travertine! I wonder if this is a good solution for outdoor weathering and if it will not require too much maintenance.
There is travertine... and travertine. Attention to call prices! Some travertines found at very low prices have a irregular texturedug outalveoli, enough porous, which "facilitates" the penetrations of water and therefore the risk of bursting frost, but also a rapid fouling. For an outside terrace, you must remember a quality travertine, with a sufficiently fine and dense texture. The periodic application of a slip reducer, and a treatment against foams guarantees safety because this type of coating quickly becomes slippery.
