Uprising is a common situation with parquet, mainly encountered when the boards or slabs have not been preserved and laid in the state of the art. DuitDesign advises you on the precautions and the appropriate solutions against the uprising of parquet.
The quality and the conservation of the boards of parquet to avoid the rising
The first factor induce the uprising of the parquet concerned the quality of the material. In addition to the type of wood used and its thickness, it should be checked that the blades have not taken moisture on the one hand, and that the accuracy of their embedding is correct on the other hand.
The place of conservation of the parquet floor before its installation must then be free of any moisture so that it does not impregnate the wood. Blades should also be stored on a flat surface, and in no case at a height.
In due cases, the material will not be healthy, and the floor will suffer damage before and after installation, and must be changed.

The ideal configuration of the room before laying parquet
As with the blade storage area, the room where the floor is installed must meet certain air quality rules to avoid the risk of lifting. The temperature must be between 15 and 30 degrees, and the humidity level between 45 and 65%; if not, installing an aeration system can solve the problem. In addition, it is also necessary to take into account the specific humidity generated by ancillary works operated in the same room if there is. For example, if plasters are made, wait for them to be dry is essential before laying the floor.
Also, the soil, which must be clean and linear, is another key element. In the event of residues remaining under the floor, these will have to be removed, proceeding to the removal then the rest of the blades concerned. The irregularity of the soil is more problematic because it requires a prior re-approval of the surface, the risk of having to redo all the floor if it is not flat from the start.
Finally, the floor must be adapted according to the nature of the floor of the room, and will not be the same depending on whether it is a heated floor for example.
Laying the parquet in the rules of the art
Here again, some principles of parquet installation are essential to avoid any premature deterioration, including a more or less short-term rise.
Depending on the type of parquet first, including floating, a vapor barrier film must be placed before the blades. Regarding glued parquet, special attention must be paid to the glue used, but also to its dissimilation to avoid the effects packets. Sufficient space must then be left between the boards and the walls, so that the natural phenomenon of dilatation wood can be made. Finally, it must be ensured that if there are already skirting boards in the room, they have been removed beforehand; they also allow to hide the expansion space later.
Without taking these precautions, a raised floor is very likely, which will then require reworking the blades, or remake the entire coating.
Lastly, with regard to floors on heated and / or refreshing floors, the task must be entrusted to a professional.
