Today, plasterboard partitions are the most used part separation solution. They feature simple implementation, robustness and significant insulating performance. Performance that varies from one model to another and do not all destine the same parts.

Partitions made of plasterboard

Drywall partitions are drywall, either mounted without the addition of a binder. They are lighter and can be used for every room in the house.

A versatility that can be explained by acoustic and thermal performance and the good mechanical resistance that the partition has. The nature of the plates, the type of framework and the thickness of the insulation can be modulated according to the needs of the room to which the partition will devolve.

Partitions in plaster tiles

In order to assemble this type of partition, it will be necessary to successively fit and glue the plaster tiles on each other. This type of separation is a partitioning solution considered practical and very compact.

In fact, the plasterboard partition is generally used in rooms with a very small area. It is found most often installed as a bathroom or toilet partition.

Plaster alveolar partitions

Alveolar partitions are composed of two plasterboards, assembled by a cardboard core (honeycomb type). Their attractive cost and their simplicity of implementation make it a preferred partitioning solution for certain parts.

The plaster honeycomb partitions are very light, their use is therefore indicated in attics or rooms with old floor. However, they have less insulating performance compared to conventional plasterboard partitions.

The solidity of the plaster partitions

The plaster walls are strong, shock-resistant and withstand heavy loads. However, if the fastening system is not adapted to the weight of the object, the partition can become damaged.

Standard tiles and plasterboards can also be weakened by moisture. It will therefore be necessary to choose waterproof elements for the bathroom or kitchen.

To note: the plasterboard partition has the highest mechanical resistance.
